The ACLS course covers:
- Basic life support skills
- Early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as sympotomatic bradycardia
- Airway management
- Related pharmacology
- Mangement of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
- Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team and effective team dynamics
Students are expected to have a good working knowledge of EKG rhythms and pharmacology as well as algorithms prior to coming to class.
