The PALS Course is designed to teach you the lifesaving skills required to be both a team member and a Team Leader in either an in-hospital or an out-of-hospital setting. Because the PALS Course covers extensive material in a short time, you will need to prepare for the course beforehand.

Be prepared to pass the Child CPR and AED Skills Testing Checklist and Infant CPR Skills Testing Checklist. You will not be taught how to do CPR or how to use an AED during the course. The resuscitation scenarios require that your BLS skills and knowledge are current. Review and understand all 2020 BLS guidelines, especially as they relate to pediatric patients.

Intended Audience: The course is designed for healthcare providers such as, but not limited to, physicians, nurses, paramedics, and respiratory therapists, who may respond to a pediatric cardiovascular respiratory emergency. Those who are renewing their PALS but desire additional instructor feedback may also benefit from this class as well.

The Qualitative Respiratory Mask fit testing ensures a tight, effective, and customized fit for your face to protect you from airborne contaminants.The fit testing is mandatory for many schools, hospitals, institutions that follow OSHA guidelines.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a N95 card.

Please register and contact the office to schedule your fit testing date and time. Appointments are limited, you can NOT just show up. You MUST call the office.

 

Students are responsible for bringing their own N95 respiratory masks! Please make sure it is a proper N95 mask that is approved by your institution. Please be sure to bring different sizes for us to test you on! You may purchase one from CPR123 if you can not obtain one. Feel free to contact the office if any questions or concerns.

Facial Hair Guideline Requirements:

OSHA does not permit the use of respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by individuals with facial hair. Facial hair between the skin and face seal of the respirator will interfere with the seal of the respirator. Facial hair can impact the effectiveness of the face seal. If you have facial hair, please note that a fit-test CANNOT be performed if:

  • you have a beard
  • you have more than one day's hair growth on your face

Tips for those with facial hair:

  • shave the morning of the fit-test
  • continue to shave daily while you are required to wear an N-95 respirator

The NRP Provider Course introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. It is designed for health care professionals involved in any aspect of neonatal resuscitation, including physicians, nurses, advanced practice nurses, nurse midwives, licensed midwives, respiratory care practitioners, and other health care professionals who provide direct care during neonatal resuscitation.

Part 1

Students must complete an online examination prior to attending the NRP course.  If you do not pass even one lesson after the second try, you will be required to purchase another license. Please be sure to select either the Essentials NRP or the Advanced NRP by reading the instructions! Read the requirements for selecting the right one.

Postpartum Unit: Essentials NRP is the preferred exam for healthcare professionals who work in Postpartum, and those who do NOT attend deliveries. 

L&D and NICU: Advanced NRP is the preferred exam for healthcare professionals who work in Labor & Delivery, NICU, or those who attend deliveries. 

Part 2

Upon completing the online NRP Provider Curriculum, Providers have 90 days from completing curriculum to complete an Instructor-Led Event. YOU MUST EMAIL YOUR COMPLETED EXAMINATION CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NRP COURSE.  Only the 8th edition will be accepted.

 

Once you complete all steps, the instructor will approve your skills and you will be required to complete a course evaluation.  Your eCard will not be generated until the evaluation is completed.  You will then have access to your NRP Provider eCard on the Resuscitation Credentials page under your Profile.

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Every second counts when stabilizing life-threatening trauma cases. This course, taught by qualified nurses, prepares you with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and training needed to provide high-quality trauma nursing care. The goal of TNCC is to improve trauma patient outcomes by providing nurses with foundational trauma knowledge, skills, and a systematic Trauma Nursing Process to guide trauma patient care. Verification of successful course completion is based on passing the written exam and the Trauma Nursing Process (TNP) psychomotor skills station. Verification is valid for four years. After completing this course, you will be able to properly assess patients and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for them.

 Prerequisites

  • Only registered nurses are eligible for provider status. LPN's and Paramedics are eligible to attend all portions of the course, however, no certification will be provided, only contact hours will be awarded.

  • It is preferred that participants have at least six months of clinical nursing experience in an emergency care setting before attending the course. IV Insertion Image

This course is for any Healthcare Provider that falls within their scope of practice ie: RN. LPN etc... This course is not for the general public. CPR123 is not liable for any misconduct or non-compliance with your place of employment. 

Instruction in the insertion of traditional over-the-needle cannula peripheral aka "short" intravenous catheters. Instruction includes the insertion procedure, techniques for proper and successful catheter insertions, care, assessment, and maintenance post-catheter insertion. Didactic practice will be done on a manikin arm.

The IV Certification Program covers:

After the Class; What's next?

The focus of the program is to provide a framework for healthcare providers to demonstrate knowledge and independence in the performance of IV catheter insertion procedures. It incorporates standards, guidelines, and recommendations from the leading IV-related organizations that set the standards of IV care in the U.S. Individuals may need to be competency tested via their institution upon completion of the course.

Each state has its laws, rules, scope of practice, and regulations; therefore, it is your responsibility to check with your state board if this IV course conforms to the laws, regulations, and scope of practice for your credential in your state. This course does NOT offer a live stick competency test upon completion. Those who need live stick competency testing will do so via their institution.
